Betsy Nordell, Ed.D., is a former classroom teacher and current teacher educator with more than 30 years of experience in a variety of educational settings. Since 1993, she has been teaching and coaching administrators and teachers with Open Circle, a Wellesley Centers for Women (WCW) Project at Wellesley College. Betsy is also a trainer and coach with Leading Together, a program out of the Center for Courage and Renewal, Northeast.
Betsy earned her BSBA in Management (with minors in Education and Personnel Selection & Development) from Bucknell University. She spent seven years in the corporate sector before earning her M.Ed. from Wheelock College and her Teaching and Learning doctorate from American International College. Her research, publications, presentations, and workshops have focused on the creation of optimal learning communities, adult social and emotional learning, perception and bias, mindfulness, curiosity, gratitude, compassion, and hope, and the power of positive relationships to foster growth.
